BRIEF: ReBuild Houston is the program that, in part, funds City of Houston infrastructure projects. When Katherine first began with the City of Houston Public Works department, the only social media site the department had was a Facebook page with only 60 followers. There was little content, no social media calendar in place and no one that kept up with the site. She had to not only create the concept for a social media campaign, but also had to convince Public Works executives that social media was important for the department. Katherine created a robust social media campaign based on research and strategy. That same Facebook page with only 60 followers, now has more than 10,000 followers.
PRIMARY TARGET DEMOGRAPHIC: City of Houston citizens, counties located in the City of Houston, local government officials, community and neighborhood leaders, City of Houston staff, industry professional (i.e. engineers), and journalists.
CAMPAIGN ELEMENTS: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Flickr
